Wife to an ultra-runner, mother of two, Ironman, ultramarathoner, taking life one stride at a time.
The run that almost wasn’t. I had 7 miles on the schedule today. The day started out a little rough. A little seasonal allergy crud had me dragging this morning. After working on race stuff all day, a little laundry, cooking and cleaning, I decided a little fresh air would do me some good.
The run started off great. I made it up the back of West Mountain in record time. Then, my momentum continued as I made the loop around and back up again. I hammered the downhill and finished a strong 2.5 miles on the flat Whittington Park trail.
My last three mile splits were 8:35, 8:46, 8:24.
Looking back at my log, I ran that exact same loop Sept 20th in 1:15:28. Today’s time: 1:10:29
